Périgueux is located in the Dordogne region in southwestern France. Its landmark is the Saint-Front Cathedral with its domes and turrets. With its ground plan of a Greek cross, it is the model for Sacré-Coeur in Paris. The cathedral dates back to the 12th century and underwent numerous changes to its current Romano-Byzantine architecture. The main sights of Périgueux can be found by walking through the city center. And in the small side streets there are interesting small stores and crafts.
