Our penultimate stop takes us to a natural campsite in a small village with excellent opportunities for hiking or exploring this corner of the Spessart by bike.

Campingplatz Main Glück stretches along the banks of the Main River. It offers plenty of space for motorhomes and caravans.

Provisions are available at the supermarket in Lohr or Marktheidenfeld, and fresh bread rolls can be bought at the bakery in Rotenfels or Hafenlohr.

Neustadt am Main is picturesquely situated on both banks of the Main River, surrounded by the wooded hills of the Spessart. Neustadt is particularly well known for its monastery, a Benedictine monastery founded in 768/769, which played an important role in the Christianisation of the region.

Possibilities

The square, the area next to it and the Main River are great places to relax: sunbathe on the jetty, go water skiing, try stand-up paddleboarding, chat around the campfire, go motorboating, paddle boating or kayaking.

Expand your horizons in all directions: head into the forest to see the aurora borealis, enjoy a refreshing local beer, or visit Snow White in Lohr am Main.

Our recommendation

Stand: Summer 2025

The campsite is very well maintained and allows stress-free parking for campers and caravans.

The sanitary facilities are spotlessly clean, there is a kiosk and it is not far to the supermarket for stocking up on provisions.

A very uncomplicated place with an uncomplicated family who run it and put their heart and soul into it.

Highly recommended.

... even more possibilities

Update: Frühling 2026

The village store and Café in the Klosterhof are brand-new and only recently opened. It’s a place where young and old from both sides of the Main meet, and where you can easily stock up on groceries for your RV’s fridge.

In addition to the wide variety of products, another noteworthy detail is the pricing, which certainly holds its own against the large, established supermarkets in Lohr and Marktheidenfeld.

The village café is also highly recommended: the coffee is delicious, the cakes are a real treat—though they might not be the best for your waistline... and you certainly won’t go hungry here.

When the sun comes out on April 1, you can enjoy the weather, some peace and quiet, and a fine regional beer in a historic setting... or perhaps coffee and cake—whatever suits your taste and mood.
