We already knew this restaurant from our last visit and wanted to see if anything had changed upon our return to Sanary-sur-Mer.
Fortunately, nothing significant has changed: the patron is still extremely kind and accommodating, and his team also makes a heartfelt effort to look after the guests. The only downside is that we aren't the only ones who know this—Quay 16 is particularly popular among the locals. Therefore, making a table reservation is strongly advised.
We were lucky with the weather and had booked a table outside. Right in front of the establishment, we were given a strategically excellent spot, from which one can perfectly observe everyone strolling past the harbor.
Ultimately, the "observation strategy" was almost unnecessary, as we struck up a conversation with our table neighbors so quickly that it became completely secondary who was currently promenading along the quay wall. An evening full of life and Provençal conviviality.
The selection is extensive, the menu is pleasantly well-structured, and the food is noticeably fresh. My personal tip: simply rely on the patron's current suggestions—you really can't go wrong here.
For us, a visit to Quay 16 is part of every stay in Sanary. Highly recommended for all who want to enjoy honest harbor cuisine.
