Not far from the historic center of Grasse, I found Hôtel Elixir, where I was also able to try their restaurant, L'Elixir.
Those who prefer a hotel as their domicile on their travels are rarely in such a central location as the Elixir guest: it takes 20, 25 minutes to walk into the old town of Grasse and it's no further to the city's famous perfumers.
It is about 15 km to Cannes, the beaches in the direction of Théoule-sur Mer and even further to Saint-Raphaël in a westerly direction are easy to find and the parking situation is, except in high season and/or on weekends, decent. Somewhere is or will always be a place free.
The opposite direction leads to the mountains, as I often heard from the locals. This means the southern foothills of the Alps, the original Provençe, with its hills, cliffs, small villages with a great history, and the small canyons that the small and large rivers have carved out over the millennia.
The rooms, in their various sizes and categories, are perfectly suited for vacationers and business travelers.
WLAN and internet connection are available, the one who wants to be offline just has to switch off the cell phone. The well-kept garden, swimming, fitness and wellness area complete the offer of this 4-star hotel.
Provençal cuisine is generally a treat for the palate. To top this seems difficult to me as a self-confessed non-cook. All the greater are the amazement, joy and awe about the dishes and the chef with his team. A specialty this summer were dinners from the grill.
