Le Moulin de l'Abbaye

The picture postcard landscape is stunning: the Moulin de l'Abbaye on the riverbank offers a breathtaking panoramic view of Brantôme as well as the Jardin des Moines, the river, the "Pont Coudé" (Renaissance) and the abbey founded by Charlemagne in 769.

The house is a beautiful charming residence and member of Relais et Châteaux since its conversion into a hotel in the 1980s.

The Moulin de l'Abbaye is a hotel with three historical buildings:

- The old mill, which was used for many purposes: to grind grain, to weave wool and even to generate electricity for the village.

- The "Maison du Meunier" (house of the miller), located at the foot of the caves, a few meters from the mill.

- The "Maison de l'Abbé" from the 13th century, where Pierre de Bourdeilles, abbot and lord of Brantôme, lived, on the other side of the river, 300 meters from the mill.

Depending on the room category chosen, the room may be located in one of the two houses. So for more information the hotel's team is at your disposal.

The hotel offers a journey through the local gastronomy of Périgourdin. In its restaurant with a Michelin star, its terrace and in the two nearby Périgourdin bistros Fil du Temps and Fil de l'Eau , you can enjoy tasty regional dishes.

The salon welcomes guests in a simple and elegant atmosphere. The rooms offer comfort and tranquility in the three houses of the hotel.

20 rooms of which are distributed between the mill, the Maison du Meunier (opposite to the mill) and the Maison de l'Abbé, 350 meters from the mill. Each room has a different layout, has its own personality and point of view and enchants with the comfort of a 4-star hotel.

All rooms are equipped with individually controlled air conditioning, safe, minibar, WiFi, TV and radio. A room for persons with reduced mobility is available on the first floor of the Maison de l'Abbé and has special access.
