The Grotte de Tourtoirac was a true serendipitous find for us—and what a find it was! We were actually busy dodging massive trucks in the village's narrow streets when an inconspicuous sign lured us away from the main road to this hidden gem. There, we met an incredibly helpful staff member who assisted us in getting our filming permit without any fuss. There is a reason why this underground wonderland still feels so pristine: it hasn't been known for long, having only been discovered on January 28, 1995, by cave explorer Jean-Luc Sirieix.
