The Dordogne is a land of tobacco cultivation and processing. You can still see many tobacco kilns in the countryside and some farmers still grow this plant, which originated in South America. Tobacco was originally used by the Native American peoples. Tobacco has been used for more than 3000 years and this museum tells its story.
