It' s the time of the rose blossom when we meet Audrey and her husband Thierry. Everything is manual labor, because there are no machines for harvesting the delicate rose blossoms. And so the couple Audrey and Thierry Bortolini spend hour after hour in their small fields, harvesting the raw material for ... everything that smells and tastes good.
Here we meet two lovers of agriculture and fragrances. Audrey is the fourth generation from a family of farmers and Thierry is a gardener who has created the most beautiful private Mediterranean gardens. For us they open the doors of their 18th century family farm where they grow plants that are the basic ingredients for perfume.
We are at Domaine du Mas de l'Olivine in Peymeinade, a small town 10 minutes from Grasse.
On Audrey's estate there are regular events for the little ones and the big ones - or for everyone together. And strangers are also welcome. However, at least some knowledge of French should be present. Having reached the end of one's (French) words, one can usually continue in English. This is especially true for the other guests you meet. - I know what I am writing about, because I was invited to an event and after a short time I was no longer just the spectator, but «right in the middle of it».
Since the available seats are unfortunately not infinite, a reservation is mandatory. Information about the events, how and where to register can be found here.
