During the three years of our travels through the Périgord, we always enjoyed stopping at the Restaurant de la Poste in Saint-Léon sur Vézère. The reason is simple: we met the locals who enjoyed it here - like us and now and then some other tourists. And: this nice restaurant is only 6, 7 minutes by car from our campsite.
Ambience
Exciting. A mixture of medieval walls and modern gastronomy, as is often found in this region. This then radiates a very special coziness, which continues into the outdoor gastronomy. The service is very friendly and cordial. Also typical for this area. And on the road, at the edge of which one sits, there is so little traffic that it is not really noticed while dining and enjoying.
Our recommendation
The menu is just right. Not too big and not too small. This also applies to the dishes served: we were really full every time, which is supposedly not always the case in France.
The French cuisine that we could enjoy here tastes excellent, the wines offered are of the best quality and the prices called are not only justified, but also affordable. A realization that has spread, because reserving a table is strongly advised.
