During our three years of travels through the Périgord, we always enjoyed returning to Restaurant de La Poste in Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère.
The reason is simple: we found the locals dining here—just like us, along with the occasional fellow tourist. Plus, this beautiful restaurant is only a six to seven-minute drive from our campsite.
The architecture is fascinating—a successful blend of medieval walls and modern gastronomy, typical of this region. It radiates a very special kind of coziness that extends to the outdoor dining area.
The service is very friendly and warm, which is characteristic of this area. Although it is located by a road, there is so little traffic that it is hardly noticeable while dining and enjoying your meal.
The menu is just right: not too large and not too small. The same goes for the portions—we were truly satisfied every time. The French cuisine is excellent, the wines offered are of top quality, and the prices are not only justified but also affordable.
Naturally, word of this quality has spread, so a reservation is strongly advised. You can find all further current details here.
