The Schönbrunnen Inn is located in this striking half-timbered house, built at the beginning of the 17th century. It is a place where Franconian tradition has found a permanent home.
The building's use for gastronomy was first documented in 1818. At that time, brewer Joseph Amrhein was registered as the homeowner and host of the Schönbrunnen. Interestingly, an in-house brewery was once located in the buildings of the backyard—a common practice for the prominent inns of that era.
As soon as you enter, you are greeted by a rustic atmosphere. The ground-floor parlor offers space for 45 guests and is the perfect spot for a relaxed evening.
Here, guests are spoiled for choice with five different types of draft beer and a selection of fine wines. It is exactly this mix of history and lived hospitality that makes the Schönbrunnen so special.
On the first floor, another 50 guests can be accommodated in the well-kept atmosphere of a traditional Franconian restaurant. Whether for a small snack or a grand dinner, the setting is always appropriate.
The Schönbrunnen remains a prime example of how historic architecture and modern gastronomy can merge into a harmonious whole. A must-visit for anyone exploring the Snow White city of Lohr.
