The Gentil House in Aschaffenburg is a fascinating piece of history. It was built in 1923/24 by Anton Gentil, a local industrialist and art collector. Gentil designed the house himself to showcase his extensive and eclectic art collection, which includes medieval altars, sculptures, East Asian artefacts and modern art.

The house itself reflects the Arts and Crafts movement, with Gentil personally contributing to the interior design by conceiving and producing furniture and decorative elements.

Today, the Gentilhouse serves as a museum, preserving Gentil's legacy and offering visitors a glimpse into his unique vision and artistic tastes. If you want to learn more about the current exhibitions or the history of the museum, click here.
