The Strasbourg Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art was founded in 1973 and opened in its own building in November 1998. The museum is one of the largest of its kind in France and houses extensive collections of paintings, sculptures, graphics, multimedia and design from the period between 1870 (Impressionism) and today, as well as a wide range of works in its photographic archive. In total, it owns 18,000 works.
The artists exhibited here also appeal to us, who are only very superficially versed in this art environment. Colors, shapes, and the ambience in which the works are placed captured us even beyond our professional curiosity.
