We want to discover city camping in Paris. And starting from the site, the city and the sights that are important to us and doable in a week. Predominantly on foot and with our handcart, which became the most important utensil of our excursions. To do this, we need a place for our caravan, which is located directly on the Bois de Boulogne on the banks of the Seine. I remember a simple pitch that lowered the Paris stay financially to pocket money level. But that was in the 1980s...
The place is big. Really big. It offers space especially for motorhomes and caravans. For the prices called the pocket money is no longer enough, but they are fully within the budget.
The distance to the city center (Place Charles de Gaulle, Arc de Triomphe) takes about 20 minutes by car or shuttle bus - depending on traffic. The the shuttle leaves "at the front door" and goes to Port Maillot, where you can change to the metro.
We found a gas station with tolerable prices on the other side of the Seine in Suresnes.
The sanitary facilities are good, clean and numerous, because the site is very long. This applies to the showers, the sinks and even for the emptying point for the chemical toilet and the gray water.
Each pitch from a certain category has its electric connection, own fresh water, and gray water drain.
The site is located between the River Seine and the Bois de Boulogne. Nevertheless, it is surprisingly quiet. We did not hear anything from the road that goes right past.
The service staff is very friendly and helpful, the small supermarket has everything you need - including wine and beer. The prices are not overpriced, as we have seen elsewhere. And breakfast is good in the restaurant next door, on the terrace ... or of course "at home", in the caravan.
What to do here
No limits. Paris is practically at your feet.
Which type of vehicle to use for exploring the city is ultimately a moot point. Even though we saw cyclists weaving through the traffic, we consider this option for foreigners who are not really familiar with the customs to be ... daring.

Status: Late summer 2023
The campsite is ideal for city camping with camper or caravan.
Facilities, service and hygiene are very good. There are no language problems. If something does not fit, it is done immediately without discussion.
