Le Pavillon Royal is a luxury campsite on the Basque coast between Biarritz and Bidart, offering magnificent views of the Atlantic and direct access to the sandy beach.
Arriving in the late pre-season, we found a site that harmoniously combines nature and comfort. The campsite features large and small pitches, thoughtfully delimited by dense hedges to ensure privacy—a welcome contrast to open-field camping.
The 5-star standard is evident throughout the facilities. Full hookups for electricity, water, and drainage at the pitches make for a comfortable stay. The sanitary blocks are professionally maintained and sparkling clean, with hot water reliably available at any time.
For surfers and ocean lovers, the direct access to the Atlantic is an absolute highlight. Unlike more remote regions, everything here is within reach: Bidart and Biarritz are just minutes away, and local supermarkets like Intermarché are easily accessible by bike or car.
A final piece of advice for the Bay of Biscay: the Atlantic wind can be fierce. Investing in storm straps for your awning is a must to protect your gear. With multilingual staff and an excellent on-site restaurant, Le Pavillon Royal truly offers a "royal" camping experience.
