Berlin-Kladow Campsite
Berlin-Kladow Campsite is located directly on the former inner-German border on the West Berlin side. It is open year-round and is extremely conveniently located for the caravan enthusiasts among us in terms of transportation.
Level terrain with grass makes aligning the caravan easy. The sanitary facilities are decent, even if they have aged a bit. However, that didn't really matter to us, because whether old or new: everything here is sparkling clean. There are plenty of fresh water taps, though they are turned off in winter for the season. The walk to the washhouse is perfectly fine, even for spoiled campers.
This really large site has a high proportion of permanent campers. It is located near Gross-Glienicker See, through which the state border between Berlin and Brandenburg runs today. The Havel river flows on the opposite side of the town – making this exactly the right address for water sports enthusiasts.
Opportunities
In the town itself, there are plenty of shopping options for daily supplies. In addition to the clubhouse with down-to-earth cuisine, there is also a good Italian restaurant in town, which can be reached in about 5 minutes by car. The site is also ideally located for getting to central Berlin or Potsdam stress-free. The surroundings can be explored on well-developed cycle paths – or you can swap the bike for a boat on the Havel or Lake Wannsee.
Our Recommendation (as of 2019)
Ideal for a city trip to Berlin or exploring the Brandenburg countryside. You almost forget that you are in the capital, as you are camping here in the middle of nature. A great starting point for activities in the nature of the Havel and lakes, as well as for the vibrant life of the metropolis. Highly recommended.
