Saaleinsel Campsite
Here, on an island in the middle of the little river Saale, we prepare for our journey home in total peace and quiet. An idyllic spot on earth in the three-river city of Gemünden am Main.
Before setting off for good, we soak up some more peace and quiet at this site. Here, the hustle and bustle of everyday life stays outside, on the other banks of the Saale.
The sanitary facilities are impeccable and clean. This applies to the showers, the sinks, and also the disposal for the chemical toilet and gray water – everything is top-maintained. The pitches have electrical connections, and the fresh water taps are well distributed throughout the grounds.
Opportunities
Gemünden has several decent restaurants and ice cream parlors to offer. From here, beautiful excursions into the Spessart forest can be made by bike or car. Water sports enthusiasts are also catered for: paddling, canoeing, or fishing on the Main, Sinn, and Saale rivers let the holiday hours pass pleasantly.
Our Recommendation (as of 2025)
The campsite is ideal for a stay with a camper or caravan. From here, you can explore the Spessart in peace without being chased by culture and history. A wonderful place to slow down. Highly recommended.
