Trévoux is a small town on the banks of the Saône River and, surprisingly, has some impressive monuments that testify to the importance of this small town in earlier times.
We had checked into the large campground on the banks of the Saône River, from where we made our first explorations of the town and the region, which we had not known at all until then.
The local tourist office supported us with maps and good tips. It is located in the Sires de Villars house and easy to find, as it is right on the main road that runs along the Saône.
From there, you walk through Rue du Port and find impressive houses from the 15th and 16th centuries. Here you can't miss Le Chaudron, a place we can recommend with a clear conscience. A little further east is the Hôpital Montpensier, which opened in 1686 and houses an interesting collection of objects from pharmacy and pharmacy history.
