The village of good life... claim the local tourism people for their place. - True. We can only confirm this. The Fressgass in the village center has it in itself. In the Petit Bouchon, which has become one of our favorite places in town, you meet mostly locals, even in high season.
Of course, this place is not the only one we visited. We have visited a few more and would like to point out the small restaurant L'oustaou de mouans. The crêpes are heavenly, the chef cordial and -when there is time- up for a joke and this year (2019) with a waiter who pointed out what we then found out for ourselves was a sin of omission. So finally we visited Mougins in a village where world-class art and star cuisine meet.
But not only the «Fressgass» is worth visiting, the castle and the modern green building behind it, the «Donation Albers-Honegger», highly recommended for those interested in contemporary art.
If you arrive by car, you will find a free parking lot directly in front of the station. This is unsuitable for motorhomes because of the height restriction. On foot you are then in less than 5 minutes in the middle oin the old town. We find this solution ingenious.
So how did we get there?
It's not difficult: from the campground it's a bit too far to walk. By car, we took the Route de Cannes out of town and turned right at the first traffic circle to Mouans-Sartoux, which is signposted. In town, you should either look for the "train station" sign or turn around at the traffic circle in front of the gendarmerie and then orient yourself to the right until a "P" sign shows the way.
In the past this was a village with agriculture. There were olive trees, flower and jasmine fields for the perfume industry in Grasse. Today, companies from modern industries have settled in Mouans-Sartoux.
